Folkestone Academy

The neighbouring Folkestone Academy, situated just a stone’s throw from Jenner headquarters engaged the services of the Park Farm Construction team to undertake careful remodelling works of a sensitive nature, to formulate reinforced isolation rooms or ‘calming pods’ as they are referred, for the careful management of those students with behavioural difficulties and in need of space away from their peers.

The spaces were fully reconfigured with upgraded electrical services and involved all ancillary redecoration and flooring works. Each room was subsequently sub-divided by the installation of specialist hardwearing glazed screens, with the frames made by our in-house department Park Farm Joinery, so that teaching staff can readily observe and monitor the students from a secure position.

Following substantial flood damage to the school in 2021, major repairs were necessary to be carried out whilst ensuring the school could remain operational, the refurbishment of all communal areas with replacement flooring and redecoration works were soon underway.

The main gym floor was removed and replaced with a new and improved cushioned flooring installed more suited to its function. All classrooms were redecorated as was the Library with new flooring, resulting in rejuvenated and vibrant new learning facilities for the school.

Templeman Library

Templeman Library, Canterbury

Returning to work for longstanding client The University of Kent, the team undertook the minor works contract to ensure that the access stairs to the Templeman Library were suitably visible for full DDA compliance. The works involved the careful application of individual white identification lines to each step at the entrance of the busy student hub, situated at the heart of the main Canterbury campus.

The project is one of many undertaken for this repeat business client owing to the trusted relations established over many years, safe in the knowledge they would receive the same standard of service and end finish, tantamount to the Jenner way of working.

Templeman Library

Folkestone Primary School, Folkestone, Kent

We were very pleased to return to the Folkestone Academy this summer, within minutes of our Head Office, where we previously delivered ‘calming pods’ for the Trust. This time we were back at the Primary School to reconfigure two, existing clusters of three classrooms to form four larger teaching spaces.

New partitions were erected, complete electrical upgrades carried out (including lights and audio visual equipment), new flooring laid and full decorations to conclude.

Delivered by our in-house teams and approved supply chain, works were carried out across a fast-track programme (and delivered just ahead of target) during the summer holidays, ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2023.

Templeman Library

Sissinghurst Primary School

The school, originally constructed by Jenner (Contractors) Limited back in 2011, required maintenance and external decoration works which we were pleased to return to undertake. Aside from the scaffolding erection, all works were carried out by our in-house teams and comprised cleaning and improvements to the boarding, windows, fascia, guttering and canopies along with roof repairs.

This was another fast-track refurbishment programme completed for the start of the academic year in September 2023.
